Canadian Process Serving is committed to keeping our clients informed about critical changes in the legal support landscape. The Ministry of the Attorney General has announced a significant transition for all electronic court filings in Toronto.
Effective October 14, 2025, all e-filings for Toronto courts must be submitted through the new Ontario Courts Public Portal (OCPP). This new, enhanced portal is designed to expand access to court services.
To facilitate this transition, the current Justice Services Online (JSO) portal will have a cutoff date.
Key Dates for Legal Professionals:
- October 3, 2025 (5:00 p.m.): The JSO portal will stop accepting any new filings for Toronto matters. Any drafts saved in JSO must be submitted before this time, as they will not be transferred to the new system.
- October 4 to October 13, 2025: There will be an online filing blackout period for all Toronto matters. Online filing will not be available during this time.
How We Can Help During the Transition
We understand that these changes can disrupt your workflow. Our team is fully prepared to assist you during this transition period.
During the blackout from October 4-13, urgent or time-sensitive documents can still be filed in person at the courthouse. Our Toronto team will be making daily trips to the court counters to handle these essential filings on behalf of our clients. If you anticipate needing in-person filing support during this time, please contact our Toronto office to make arrangements.
For non-urgent matters, we recommend waiting until the new OCPP becomes available on October 14.
We will continue to monitor updates and practice directions from the courts and will keep our clients informed.
