About Nunavut’s Court System
Nunavut operates a unique unified court system — the only one of its kind in Canada. The Nunavut Court of Justice combines the jurisdiction of both the superior court and the territorial court into a single court, with its main courthouse located in Iqaluit. The court travels on circuit to communities across the territory.
