Today our head office received a letter from a client of ours asking if there was anything that we could do to help them with a bill for services rendered that they just received from us.
The account was very substantial and I must admit I was surprised when I saw it myself.
The file though must also have set a new record for the amount of court attendances that we performed for them to obtain the necessary documents that they needed.
It was a lot of work, and we even went into pocket for costs to perform the services needed.
This is not the first time I have seen such a request, in fact in the last few months we have given substantial discounts to our bills once the file was completed.
This is were I need you to stay tuned and follow me closely.
There was nothing wrong on our end, all services and requests made to us were followed perfectly.
The problems were on the lawyers side, either a clerk forgot something, submitted the wrong forms, missed forms, etc…
This is not a surprise, we hold our breath each and every day when we are in court, the vast differences across the country make it no surprise to us when mistakes are noted and have to be corrected.
We do all we can that if we notice them ahead of time, we contact our client and notify them of the mistake and rectify it before we head to court, thus saving time, money and headaches for all involved.
