Times are tough for everyone, and our credit terms are changing slightly. We have moved to on line banking and can now accept and pay via EFT as well as e-mail transfer. We have even implemented a scanning process for paper cheques that we receive. Payment of invoices by credit card will also continue.
We are hearing from law firms and servers in the field that lawyers are now having to pay up front from other process serving companies and some even refusing to front issuing/filing fees needed at the counter.
We are not at this point yet, and hopefully we will not have to do this.
HOWEVER, you our client have already collected your retainer and we are at the very beginning of the legal process, so you DO HAVE THE FUNDS AVAILABLE TO PAY US.
You will have to make the changes within your firm to make sure you have the steps in place to issue payment to us either by paper cheque or electronically.
Credit terms we have given have been very very flexible and generous, but we are not prepared to chase after you a year later to get paid.
